An introduction to me

INSIDE MY MIND

I am an ambivert: I am both introverted and extroverted, and I am also both technical and creative (i.e. left and right brain focused).  I am good at seeing the bigger picture, thinking outside the box and creating innovative approaches.

Quite simply, there's a yin and yang going on in my mind.

AND MY HEART

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been interested in people, travel, culture and relationships. As an empath, I feel deeply and I have a real desire to support and help others to live better and happier lives.

Whilst I am good with numbers, I am creative at heart.

I am both serious and fun, powerful and vulnerable, inventive and safe, a lover and a fighter, a leader and a follower, a doer and a thinker, a home-body and an explorer, a student and a teacher. And I love that I am the duality of all of those things.

By accepting that I can balance all these seemingly conflicting aspects of my personality, I've been able to find my own path and find flow in life, my career and in my relationships. Years ago I gave up on pretending to just be a numbers person and decided to just be me!

A LOVE OF LEARNING

I must confess, I love learning. I have a business management background which lead to study (and a career) in personal finance. Additionally I have studied and obtained qualifications in mindfulness, yogic philosophy, NLP, wellness and permaculture and sustainability. As a Global Certified Money Coach (CMC) and Certified Wellness Coach I combine my vast experience and education in my work as a Behavioural Money Coach.

DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY

I have never been one to do things just because everyone else is doing them. My approach to business and life is unique and constantly evolving. I am always looking for ways to innovate and create. I am inspired to make a difference and have a clear vision for the social change and impact that I desire for the world.

MY MISSION

Money stress is a leading cause of stress globally. It’s also a leading cause of relationship breakdown, divorce, mental health problems to name just a few…

And this saddens me: The fact that so many people feel limited, stressed, anxious or controlled by money, unable to reach their goals, or feeling stuck or unhappy due to money.

Managing money isn’t a life skill that of us were taught, or learned growing up, so it’s no wonder money is often complex, controlling and confusing.

I believe that there is a solution, and through my work I’ve come to realize, your relationship with money is not actually that hard to shift when you know how. So I am on a mission to help as many people as I can take back control of their relationship with money and find more purpose and mindfulness with their finances so that they are able to live healthier, happier and wealthier lives.

CHANGING THE WAY WE APPROACH MONEY

I believe it's time we change the way we talk about and interact with money.

Most people talk about money in left brain terms. Facts and numbers, strategies and projection. Yet so many of us tie our self-worth (right brain) to our job, our address, our car or our bank balance (left brain). Money is a very emotional thing. And logic alone won’t always work.

The reality is, we need to think and talk about money and life in both left and right brain ways.

Sure we can still talk about numbers and technical stuff, but first we need to know where we are, what we truly want, and what we value because it’s from this place that we can make meaningful goals that are actually achievable for us and worthwhile working towards.

Real wealth may include money, but it could also include health, family, friends, sunny days, holidays, nights out, or our career. It could be a combination of those things, just one, or all of them.

When we understand what we truly value in life and what we need more of in order to feel wealthy, then we can focus on working towards obtaining those things and becoming wealthy.

When we know what it is that we are actually chasing, it becomes so much easier to achieve. And the best thing is, we're also less likely to get there and find that it wasn’t what we actually wanted after all!

I believe the journey starts by understanding ourselves: our money personality and money habits, as well as our goals and intention with money. From there we can develop a path to true wealth. Something that is achievable, meaningful and in tune with our core values.

I also believe that a conscious, purposeful and meaningful relationship with money is a practice of financial self-care. It is a head + heart approach to money practices that are centered around the concepts of alignment and balance.

With a solid foundation, you can take intentional action and practice mindfulness as you work towards your personal vision and goals for wealth and well-being.
