Dear Money Stress, Let's Break Up!

It’s pay day and it’s been one whole, stupidly-long month since last pay day! So many bills to pay… the mortgage, car, food, electricity and phone, not to mention medical insurance, internet and gym membership.

You really want to buy a new outfit for the weekend and get a bottle of that nice wine for dinner. Then there's that yoga retreat and upcoming girl’s weekend to cover too.

You know you need to be saving but it just doesn’t seem possible right now...

Why is it that you work so hard yet after paying the bills there’s nothing much left over for..... living?

There’s always your credit card right? …

Sure, using your credit card now is smart if you have the money to pay it off later, but if you don't then you're likely to end up even more stressed later.

Stressing about money has much more of an impact on us than just not being able to pay our bills. It also impacts or relationships, our self-esteem, our self-development and our sense of self-worth. And it stops us from pursuing the things we are most passionate about.

Worst of all it becomes our focus...

Our whole world!

It begins to impact us on not only an emotional level but also a physical level.

Why is it that we are so quick to sign up to the gym, a boot camp or a health and well-being program, yet so slow to pay attention to our financial well-being?

Financial well-being is imperative to our happiness, our sense of freedom and our ability to pursue our passions. We should be focusing on it because when we’re in good financial shape we have peace of mind, freedom, better relationships and the ability to pursue those things that make us truly happy.

Surely that’s worth chasing right?

Stress is directly related to how out of control we feel in a certain situation so to take control of your financial situation we need to reduce the stress that we feel about all things money.

There are so many simple budgeting, cash flow and savings strategies that can help you to rid yourself of money stress and get back into the flow of your life.

2015 is the year of the break up and time to kiss money stress goodbye!

Don't worry - it’s not actually that hard! I promise you it's something that you can get help with. If not from me, then from other professional advisers or even your friends and family could be in a position to give you some help or advice.

In fact, to begin with, it goes a little something like this…
