I have a little confession to make. I am a little obsessed with learning. But not only learning... I am seeking to also understand.

I’ll let you into a little secret – wealth isn’t exclusive to some of us and not to others. We all have access to create and generate more wealth and abundance in our lives we just need to know how.

Yet, how often do we tell ourselves and others that we really want something ….. but don’t actually take the necessary steps to achieve it?

If you think about the term “wellness” you’re more than likely to envisage pictures of active wear, green smoothies, ridiculous yoga poses, cross-fit workouts, natural medicine and remedies, day spas and indulgent retreats in exotic locations.
As beautiful and “holistic” as this image of wellness may seem, the reality is that total wellness as a concept is much more than merely physical health, exercise or nutrition.
Are you spending money the way you want to: on purpose, rather than by accident or habit?
When it comes to our spending often our unconscious habits and behaviours can trip us up. Most of us spend money on needs and wants, emotionally and impulsively even without awareness.
But it’s important that we don’t let our emotions or impulses, instead of our core values, drive our spending.
We created money as a way to exchange value and whilst it is just a piece of paper or metal – there is actually a lot of energy associated with money.
How we think and feel about money (in other words our energy with money) sits below the surface in what most of us know and refer to as our sub-conscious. And it's this energy and beliefs that create our reality with money.
Put simply, we use our beliefs as a window through which we see, process and interpret everything money related and are what form our “money story”.
If we're going to shift our energy (thoughts and feelings) with money, we first need to uncover any negative thought patterns or limiting beliefs that may be blocking your potential to have more money, more abundance and more wealth.
Which makes our beliefs like a pair of glasses that we can choose to put on or change at any time. I explain more..
So often we separate our lives into compartments. Our physical well-being, mental, spiritual, relationships, or careers, our money. But our life is like a giant wheel. At the centre of our life wheel is our life energy that floods out into all spokes of our lives and each of these spokes is interconnected. Without connection and free flowing energy to all of these areas in our life we cannot have total wellness.So often we separate our lives into compartments. We each have a unique personality and unique way of doing things and it’s our personality that shapes and influences how we interact with the world around us and our relationships. In fact it influences our decision making, time management, communication and goal setting habits. And it very much influences how we handle our finances.
Are you where you think you ought to be financially?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably made a few financial mistakes in your past. Perhaps you’re still making them? The thing is, we all make mistakes, it’s part of the learning process and experience is a great teacher... as long as we can learn from our mistakes and own up to them, we can then build from them and move forward.
All our financial habits begin to form in our younger years. How we spend, save, budget and invest is largely attributable to what we saw our parents, friends and those of influence around us do. Sometimes, the lessons that we learn about money are based on the bad habits of others or on misguided advice. If we incorporate these bad financial habits into our lives, we are bound to struggle financially. It is only when we decide to clear our minds and to take a fresh approach to our finances, can we begin to break the bad habits that we have formed over the years and begin the journey towards financial health and freedom.
Achieving any worthwhile goal whether financially, physically or spiritually may require a pushing of the limits
You may need to sacrifice and call on your drive and determination. Often you'll need to step out of your comfort zone to a place where it may not be comfortable. In yoga we often call it "playing to your edge" and it's a necessary place to be to maximize your growth and achieve your goals.
